ABOUT LETTERLY

Word games, built plainly.

Letterly started as a single word-unscrambler and grew into a small toolkit for the word games people already play — Wordle, Quordle, Wordfeud, and the classic anagram-and-scramble puzzles. No accounts, no clutter, nothing tracking what you type.

How it actually works

Every tool that matches, filters, or scores words does it entirely on your device, checking against a bundled dictionary of roughly 270,000 English words. Your letters, guesses, and board state never get sent anywhere for that — there's nothing to send them to.

The one exception is definitions. When you click or hover a word to see what it means, that single lookup goes out to a free public dictionary API — and only that word, only when you actually ask for it.

Why it's built this way

Word-game helpers tend to come loaded with accounts, ads, and trackers for something that's really just a dictionary lookup. Letterly is the opposite bet: keep the actual word-matching logic simple and correct, run it locally so it's fast and private by default, and be upfront about the one small piece — definitions — that does need the internet.

Every tool, in one place

Nine tools so far, all built on the same principles above.
